Enable Injections Inc. launched a new single, partial or multi-vial/syringe transfer system used to fill its large volume wearable injectors. The system enables patients to either use multiple vials or syringes to deliver biologics and high volume drugs subcutaneously.
The hand-held transfer system can work with any pharmaceutical primary container closure, Enable Injections said, and each vial or syringe is attached with its own screw-on adapter to lessen the change of contamination.
The company also said that a 2nd system for mixing and transferring formulations is available.
Enable Injections’ large volume wearable injector can deliver biologic doses up to 50 milliliters. The company said it is also working on developing an app-connected device in an attempt to lower healthcare costs and boost compliance.
“We are grateful for the close collaboration with our forward-thinking pharmaceutical partners,” president & CEO Michael Hooven said in prepared remarks. “Advances in drug-device combination products such as this new, small multi-vial system come about as a result of a joint commitment to significantly improving the patient experience. We have responded to our pharma partners and to patients by developing a system that provides maximum flexibility and ease of use with a minimum of waste.”
