Glytec has partnered with Adventist Health System to bring its eGlycemic diabetes management system to 39 of the health system’s acute care facilities.
Glytec’s cloud-based eGMS will become a part of the standard of care for patients who need insulin therapy, in both the critical care units and on the medical-surgical floor, the companies said.
“Providing the highest level of care possible for patients is our top priority,” Dr. Loran Hauck, Adventist’s EVP & chief clinical officer, said in prepared remarks. “The Glytec solution will allow us to deliver enhanced treatment not only to patients with diabetes, but to all patients who require insulin therapy during their stay.”
“Diabetes and related illnesses affect so many people in communities across the country. Implementing this type of software solution will allow us to provide an elevated and more personalized care experience, and ultimately help improve the quality of life for people with diabetes,” Dr. Damon Tanton, medical director for clinical practice at the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute, added.
The Adventist Health System also plans to participate and collaborate with Glytec for new studies examining the impacts of implementing glycemic management initiatives, the companies said.
“We are excited by the opportunity to work with Adventist Health System and bring our eGlycemic Management System to its facilities,” Raymie McFarland, Glytec’s VP of quality initiatives, said. “We are going to hit the ground running with several new research projects, and will aim to contribute our learnings to better the health and wellness of patients with diabetes.”
