People can purchase the Lingo biosensor both in Walgreens brick-and-mortar stores and online. This marks the latest expansion for Lingo as it penetrates different markets, starting with a launch through Amazon as its first retail agreement for the device earlier this year, then with Walmart as the first brick-and-mortar retailer for the CGM.
Earlier this month, Abbott unveiled Lingo compatibility with Android devices as well.
Lingo features a biosensor and mobile app designed for customers who want to improve their overall health and wellness. The company built Lingo on its FreeStyle Libre CGM technology platform. The consumer biowearable is available for consumers 18 years and older not on insulin. It tracks glucose in real time and provides personal insights and coaching. The company designed it to help people build healthy habits, retain their metabolism and improve their overall well-being.
Abbott received FDA clearance for Lingo and its Libre Rio OTC CGMs in June 2024. Lingo is one of two OTC CGMs on the market, with Dexcom’s Stelo also an option for those seeking to monitor glucose levels.

According to Abbott, 78% of Americans live within five miles of a Walgreens. This launch makes it easier for people to find innovative health tools and fit them into their daily lives.
The company said its rollout reflects strong consumer interest in metabolic health and more approachable ways to take early action. This rings especially true for prediabetes as people look for ways to understand their health. Abbott said a new study published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology found that people with prediabetes who return their glucose levels to normal can cut their risk of cardiovascular death or hospitalization for heart failure by 50% over two decades.
“Prediabetes affects nearly 100 million U.S. adults, and most don’t know they’re at risk,” said Olivier Ropars, divisional VP of Abbott’s Lingo business. “Understanding how your body responds to food, stress, and movement is an important first step. Lingo gives people real-time glucose insights they can use to make small, informed changes that support better metabolic health. Making Lingo available through Walgreens brings that capability to so many more people.”
