Glooko acquires Monarch Medical and its diabetes management tech

September 23, 2025 By Sean Whooley

Glooko Monarch Medical Technologies (1)Glooko announced today that it acquired Monarch Medical Technologies, maker of the EndoTool glucose management system.

EndoTool, a leading software platform, offers capabilities for inpatient insulin dosing and glycemic management. Glooko said its acquisition expands its connected care capabilities into inpatient glycemic management. This complements the company’s foundation in outpatient diabetes.

The FDA-cleared platform delivers assistance in optimizing insulin dosing, using a patient-specific algorithm in real-time. It helps reduce the risk of hypoglycemia and helps hospitals meet CMS quality measures while streamlining clinical workflows.

Palo Alto, California-based Glooko said it aims to support patients and clinicians across the full continuum of care through a single integrated solution.

Glooko’s current platforms enable patients to share diabetes data with healthcare providers. That includes blood glucose readings, insulin doses, food and carbs, exercise activity, blood pressure and weight.

Recent endeavors for Glooko include digital therapeutics and insulin delivery partnerships. Glooko also appointed a new CEO, Mike Alvarez, and raised $100 million last fall. Earlier this year, the company announced the integration of its platform with Abbott FreeStyle Libre CGMs.

By adding EndoTool to its platform, Glooko expects to support acute care settings with precision insulin dosing algorithms. It can continue to support those patients post-discharge via its remote monitoring tools. The company hopes to reduce hospital readmissions, enhance quality of care and improve glycemic control.

Glooko said the combined company will maintain all current offerings. In the near term, the companies plan to continue operating as they do today to ensure no disruptions. Eventually, they plan to integrate both offerings on a single platform. The companies declined to disclose terms of the acquisition.

“This acquisition represents a pivotal step in Glooko’s mission to transform diabetes management in every care setting,” said Alvarez. “We’ve built a strong foundation in the outpatient space — simplifying diabetes management for clinicians through unified device integration, EHR connectivity, and actionable insights. By adding Monarch’s proven inpatient insulin dosing expertise, we’re now uniquely positioned to deliver a truly comprehensive hospital-to-home solution that can improve outcomes, streamline workflows, and enhance patient safety. Looking ahead, this platform also creates opportunities to extend our leadership into primary care and advanced glycemic management, enabling us to serve patients and providers across the full continuum of care.”
