Blood glucose monitoring company LifeScan announced today that it appointed Jonathan Salkin as its new CEO, effective immediately.
Salkin succeeds Michael Hooks and James Rushing, who served as co-CEOs in an interim capacity. They took over on a temporary basis in January 2026, following the retirement of longtime CEO Valerie Asbury.
Malvern, Pennsylvania-based LifeScan plans for Hooks to continue to serve as its board chair. Rushing carries on in his roles as EVP and CFO.
Salkin, meanwhile, joins with more than two decades of experience leading global healthcare, life sciences and medtech companies. Most recently, he served as CEO of Antylia Scientific, helping to transform a laboratory distribution business into a global life sciences and bioprocessing platform.
Before Antylia, Salkin held senior leadership roles at Devicor Medical Products and Cardinal Health, according to a news release.
He joins LifeScan as it continues to advance its glucose monitoring technologies. It currently develops the OneTouch Bluetooth-connected blood glucose meter and mobile diabetes app. It aims to provide simplicity, accuracy and trust in diabetes management.
LifeScan recently partnered with i-SENS to launch a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system as well.
