From InspireMD’s Swiss distribution deal to CoreLink’s stackable guide wire launch, here are seven medtech stories we missed this week but thought were still worth a mention.
1. InspireMD announces Swiss distribution deal
InspireMD announced in an Aug. 25 press release that it has signed an agreement with 1a Medical to distribute the CGuard EPS (Embolic Prevention System). The new distributor is one of the leading medical distributors in Switzerland and plans to help launch the CGuard there.
2. EarlySense and SleepMed partnered for sleep apnea
EarlySense and SleepMed are have forged a partnership to give consumers find a solution that helps identify sleep disorders like sleep apnea that could affect their health, according to an Aug. 24 press release. EarlySense has created the EarlySense Live contact-free health and sleep monitor that is able to share accurate data with users regarding their vital signs during sleep, as well as sleep cycles. SleepMed offers sleep medicine services. Together, the EarlySense Live app will direct users to a SleepMed questionnaire that will help them learn more about their sleep disorder and be able to have a risk assessment for more details about their sleep disorder.
3. Medovex touts pain study
Medovex announced the results of its post procedure update on one of its DenerveX System in an Aug. 23 press release. The study reported that the patient had 70% pain reduction 30 days after their procedure. The company plans to expand the study to include 30, 60 and 90-day results. The DenerveX System received CE Mark approval and clearance for commercialization in Europe earlier this year. It is a system that is designed for Facet Joint Syndrome treatment, also known as spinal osteoarthritis.
