The appointments of Endicott and Burman expand MiniMed’s board from nine members to 11 members. Endicott, currently the CEO of Alcon, also joins the board’s Compensation and Talent Committee with the appointment.
Northridge, California-based MiniMed’s latest appointments help to round out its leadership as it establishes itself as a standalone company following its separation from Medtronic.
“David has done this before,” said Que Dallara, CEO of MiniMed. “He brings decades of operating leadership across healthcare, deep public company experience, and firsthand knowledge of what it takes to lead through change and build for growth. That is especially valuable as MiniMed sharpens execution as an independent company.”
MiniMed said Endicott adds experience as it builds its next chapter as an independent company. He joined Alcon as COO in 2016 and took over as CEO in 2018. Before Alcon, he served as president of Pfizer’s Hispira Infusion Systems. He also spent more than 25 years in leadership roles at Allergan and currently serves on the board of AdvaMed.
“I’m honored to join MiniMed’s board at this point in the company’s journey,” said David Endicott. “MiniMed has a long track record in diabetes and a clear opportunity to make care simpler for more people. I look forward to working with Que, the board, and the leadership team as the company advances its technology and expands its impact globally.”
Additionally, with Medtronic still the majority shareholder of MiniMed, the medtech giant designated Burman to serve on the board. She currently serves as SVP and president for the company’s Neurovascular business. Burman has spent more than 19 years across a range of senior operating and strategic leadership roles at Medtronic.
