Raumedic said today that it will present new drug delivery technologies at Pharmapack in Paris on February 1st and 2nd. The devices enhance drug delivery for oral and injection drugs, the company said in a prepared statement.
The Mills River, N.C.-based company said it has developed the oral delivery device XStraw with DS Technology to safely deliver accurate doses of oral drugs. Raumedic produces and packages the plastic components of the device, while DS Technology fills and packages the XStraw at its fully automated assembly line. The XStraw is ideal for pediatric and geriatric medicine, according to the company.
Raumedic is highlighting its new dosing syringe, which features an integrated locking mechanism for the delivery of liquid drugs. Dosing is adjustable to allow for individual and accurate dosage. The syringe is available in 0.5ml, 0.75 ml, 5ml and 10ml versions.
The company is also featuring its RauSafe device for injection systems at the European pharmaceutical industry event. The safety device is intended to offer protection against needle stick injuries, which can transmit infectious diseases between patients and healthcare professionals. The RauSafe device can be used following an injection by pushing it forward to enclose the needle, at which time the healthcare professional will hear and feel the system snap into its final, extended position.
