July 29, 2025 By Sean Whooley

Tidepool AbbottTidepool announced that it began rolling out its new cloud-to-cloud integration with the Abbott (NYSE:ABT) FreeStyle Libre CGM portfolio.

In October 2024, the companies announced a collaboration to deliver cloud-to-cloud integration for an automatic stream of data for patients using Abbott continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) in the U.S.

“Every day at Tidepool, we work to increase patient and provider choice in diabetes management through innovation and collaboration,” Brandon Arbiter, co-founder and acting CEO, said in a blog post on Tidepool’s website. “Today, we are thrilled to announce that our new cloud-to-cloud integration with Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre portfolio is officially live!

Under the agreement, the companies planned to have data stream to Tidepool’s diabetes data visualization and population health platform. The platform provides intuitive tracking and visualization of diabetes data to make the data informative and actionable for clinicians, people with diabetes, and caregivers.

Tidepool says its platform can seamlessly merge data from any sensor in the FreeStyle Libre portfolio into its population health dashboard and retrospective data displays. This creates a comprehensive overview for clinicians to assess outcomes for their entire patient population.

The integration allows people with diabetes using Libre CGMs to connect to their Tidepool account seamlessly. It deliver smore comprehensive insights and streamlined workflows for healthcare providers.

“With this partnership, Tidepool continues to deliver on its mission to empower people living with diabetes and their care teams with intuitive, interoperable tools,” Arbiter concluded. “We’re proud to deliver on our commitment to interoperable solutions that provide patient autonomy and provider efficiency. This milestone represents just the beginning of the exciting work we’re doing with Abbott and other device manufacturers to enable greater access and choice in diabetes technology.”
