Valeritas (NSDQ:VLRX) said today that the American Diabetes Association has endorsed the use of “disposable patch-like devices” for insulin delivery, which includes its V-Go wearable insulin delivery device.
The Bridgewater, N.J.-based company said that the endorsement was made as part of the the ADA’s annual Standards of Medical Care for 2019, published in the journal Diabetes Care in the new Diabetes Technology chapter.
Valeritas said that it is the first time disposable patch-like devices have been incorporated into the ADA’s clinical practice recommendations.
“It is good news for patients and medical professionals that the ADA now includes disposable, patch-like devices in its annual Standards of Medical Care. Having a well respected organization like the ADA recognize the value of a disposable, patch-like device, such as V-Go, is significant,” prez & CEO John Timberlake said in a press release.
Earlier this month, Valeritas said that its board of directors approved a 1-for-20 reverse split of its common stock.
