West recently announced that it is forming a partnership with Swissfillon AG in which Swissfillon will provide fill-finish capabilities to customers using West’s proprietary SmartDose drug delivery platform.

The partnership, which West announced last month at PharmaPack 2019 in Paris, will enable West to deliver filled Daikyo Crystal Zenith cartridges for the SmartDose wearable injector. The new fill-finish capability will become available later this year.

It combines Swissfillon’s fill-finish expertise with West’s proprietary drug delivery technology to deliver a streamlined solution that meets the unique needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers around the world,” Karen Flynn, SVP and chief commercial officer at West, said in a news release.

Overall, West is creating an Integrated Solutions Program that includes containment and delivery solutions for combination products, analytical testing services, regulatory support, and device manufacturing, assembly and drug handling.
