Tandem Diabetes Care (Nasdaq:TNDM) recently said in an SEC filing that it terminated the employment of chief commercial officer Mark Novara.

The SEC Form 8-K, filed on May 15, says that the company notified Novara, an EVP in addition to serving as CCO, on May 11 that his employment was being terminated without cause. The San Diego-based automated insulin delivery technology developer scheduled Novara’s last day of employment for today, May 18.

Tandem provided no other details on the termination or a potential replacement, but said its strategy and 2026 goals remain unchanged.

Novara joined Tandem in November 2023 with more than two decades of experience in healthcare, diabetes, medical technology and life sciences. He previously spent time at McKinsey & Company, where he served as a senior advisor in the Medical Technology/Life Science practice.

Before McKinsey, he held executive positions at BD, including as worldwide VP and GM in Medication Delivery Solutions. He also held the posts of SVP, global strategic marketing for Medical and Life Sciences and worldwide VP and GM for Diabetes Care. Prior roles also included leadership stints at Roche and Sanofi-Aventis.

Novara’s departure comes as Tandem continues to advance its automated insulin delivery technology. President and CEO John Sheridan recently outlined the plans for Mobi Tubeless, the company’s existing Mobi pump that utilizes a novel infusion set option for tubeless insulin delivery.

Other recent milestones include the launch of a pay-as-you-go reimbursement model in the U.S. pharmacy channel, the launch of a new Mobi app for Android, and the pricing of an upsized offering worth $265 million.
