Through the collaboration, Wellstar plans to build a more connected approach to medication management across its healthcare system. It plans to combine the Pyxis Pro medication dispensing technologies with Alaris infusion systems. Adopting the new technologies provide greater accuracy, real-time visibility and streamlined workflows, the company says.
Pyxis Pro combines advanced automation and AI insights to modernize medication management. It helps reduce disruptions and improve efficiency while helping clinicians spend more time on patient care. Alaris pumps feature a centralized user interface for up to four modules for all major types of infusions. That includes large-volume pumps, syringe pumps and PCA therapy with optional respiratory monitoring.
With one comprehensive infusion system, hospitals and health systems can easily scale their infusion needs across a delivery network. They can also enable interoperability with EMRs. The common PCU allows the lone interface to control all modules, making Alaris different from other pumps with non-modular architecture.
Combining Pyxis Pro and Alaris gives Wellstar a more connected approach to medication management, from pharmacy to bedside. It helps clinicians identify medication availability and waste trends while taking advantage of the EMR interoperability.
