San Diego-based Dexcom expects its deal to buy Nutrisense for an undisclosed amount in the coming weeks. With the acquisition, the continuous glucose monitor (CGM) maker plans to further expand its ability to support users beyond glucose data alone.
Nutrisense’s offerings enable Dexcom to incorporate access to registered dietitians, personalized nutrition guidance and behavior-change support. It offers 24/7 glucose data and expert coaching designed to help cut cravings, boost energy and lose weight.
The company offers metabolism-tracking technology to help users understand what’s behind their exhaustion, weight and anxiety. It also features AI capabilities to track patterns between every session and provide information and updates to dietitians.
Dexcom says its acquisition strengthens its ability to provide personal nutrition education and guidance linking food choices to glucose responses.
Additionally, at the American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions (ADA 2026) in New Orleans, which begins tomorrow, Dexcom plans to offer select users the opportunity for early access to a reimagined app experience for its Stelo over-the-counter CGM. The company said it received FDA clearance for the updated app last month.
Stelo can now provide all people not on insulin seeking better health a smarter, more intuitive way to understand their metabolism. The new app features a suite of offerings, such as pattern recognition, proactive AI coaching and personalized summaries. These features add to the system’s enhanced AI meal logging, which the company announced earlier this year. Dexcom plans to fully launch the new app experience later this summer.
Also at ADA 2026, the company plans to share findings from the CONNECT study evaluating Dexcom CGM use in those with type 2 diabetes not on insulin therapy.
Jake Leach, Dexcom president and CEO, said:
“Dexcom has built a legacy of innovation within the diabetes space and as we look to the future, expanding access and developing new CGM solutions to better support early-stage intervention and preventative care are top priorities. Through clinical research like the CONNECT study, upcoming launch of reimagined Stelo app and the acquisition of Nutrisense, Dexcom is building an even more accessible and connected ecosystem designed to help as many people as possible better understand their glucose health and manage it with real time insights, personalized support and coaching.”
