Pear Therapeutics joins Epic App Orchard to enable monitoring of its digital therapeutics

March 24, 2022 By Sean Whooley

Pear TherapeuticsPear Therapeutics (Nasdaq:PEAR) announced today that its PearConnect platform is now available in the Epic App Orchard Gallery.

By making PearConnect available to healthcare providers through the Epic App Orchard Gallery, the providers who implement the application will be able to access PearConnect within Epic’s electronic health record (EHR) platform, allowing them to monitor patients who have been prescribed Pear’s prescription digital therapeutics (PDTs).

Boston-based Pear Therapeutics developed the FDA-authorized reSET and reSET-O for the treatment of substance abuse disorder and opioid use disorder, respectively. They will be made available for providers to monitor in the Epic App Orchard Gallery.

The providers will be able to utilize seamless workflow integration to manage patients who have been prescribed Pear Therapeutics’ PDTs, including patient progress review and documenting interactions that qualify for available Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes such as Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM).

Pear Therapeutics said the addition of PearConnect to the App Orchard simplifies access to its provider toolkit and allows for the easier monitoring of PDTs, with clinicians no longer needing to leave their workflow in Epic to access necessary data.

BTIG analyst Marie Thibault wrote in a report that analysts “view this as an important win for the company since simple and intuitive workflows within leading EHR platforms will allow for increased clinician access and adoption as the PDT market expands.”

“We are excited to bring this opportunity to expand access to our PDTs, with the initial listing of our PearConnect platform in the App Orchard gallery to support reSET and reSET-O patients,” Pear Therapeutics Chief Commercial Officer Julia Strandberg said in a news release. “We believe Pear’s integration with Epic will create a pathway for healthcare providers to easily access our PearConnect platform and enable scale to serve many more patients.”
