Pops! Diabetes Care announced today the commercial launch of its blood glucose monitoring system.
The Minneapolis-based company’s device won FDA clearance in December last year.
The device can be attached directly to the back of a mobile phone and interacts with the user through a coaching app. The Pops! One system also allows users to review their blood glucose trends and share data with family members and healthcare professionals.
“Our team has developed this solution for people with diabetes,” CEO Lonny Stormo said in prepared remarks. “It is an amazing milestone to announce that we have launched this system, and it is now in people’s hands to make their lives better and lower our clients’ healthcare costs.”
Earlier this year, the company closed an equity financing round to support the launch of its blood glucose monitor.
