ViCentra expects no immediate impact from Dexcom G6 discontinuation on Kaleido pump users

ViCentra told customers that it expects no immediate impact from Dexcom’s planned discontinuation of the G6 CGM line.

At the end of 2025, Dexcom had a posting on its website stating that it would soon cease manufacturing for its G6 continuous glucose monitor (CGM). After July 1, 2026, the company plans to no longer manufacture the G6, its previous-generation CGM. This marks a production transition to the company’s latest-generation G7 (or G7 15 Day).

ViCentra’s Kaleido automated insulin delivery system currently pairs with the G6. The company plans to bring a next-generation pump to market soon that would integrate with G7.

Despite the current pump pairing with only G6, ViCentra said new users can confidently start Kaleido therapy with G6 and the DBLG1 algorithm. Dexcom continues to accept G6 prescriptions for all Kaleido users, the company says.

“At ViCentra the company behind Kaleido, we understand that stability and reliability are essential in diabetes management,” the company said. “That’s why we want to clearly explain what recent communication from Dexcom means for users of Kaleido, DBLG1 and Dexcom G6. … There is no immediate impact for current or new Kaleido users. We will continue to support and integrate Dexcom G6 with Kaleido and DBLG1 for as long as the sensor remains available on the market.

“Your therapy, supplies, and support remain unchanged. Start today on Kaleido and DBLG1 it’s the fastest way to DBLG2. When the next generation system (DBLG2) becomes available, a smooth transition is planned.”

Kaleido, described by the company as the smallest, lightest and most precise insulin patch pump in its class, offers premium materials and customizable aluminum shells in 10 color options to deliver the feel of personal technology rather than a traditional medical device.
