Mass High Tech is reporting that Pulmatrix Inc., a Lexington-based biotechnology startup that’s developing inhaled therapies for respiratory infectious diseases, raised $3.5 million.
The company, which isn’t speaking publicly about the financing and only recently came out of stealth mode, is another Robert Langer company financed by Polaris Ventures of Waltham.
Langer, a scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has frequently teamed up with Polaris over the past 15 years.
Polaris managing partner Terry McGuiresits on the Pulmatrix board, as he frequently does with companies founded by the renowned scientist.
Mass High Tech, citing paper filings by Pulmatrix with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission, reported that the company raised $3.5 million, shy of its $4 million goal.
